About GrumpyTourist
GrumpyTourist answers one question: is this worth paying for? The fast pass, the city pass, the skip-the-line ticket, the observation deck. Instead of one person's trip, we count what thousands of reviewers said after they paid, and tell you how many regretted it.
Who runs it
GrumpyTourist is made by Gonzalo Gutierrez, a technical SEO consultant based in Madrid, Spain, who built the data pipeline and signs the methodology, including how each page's review classifications are checked before it goes live.
Who is Max?
Max is the voice of the verdicts: dry, specific, on your side with your money. Max is not a person and doesn't pretend to have visited anything. The numbers come from reviews; Max only puts them into words, and every number Max writes is checked against the data.
Who pays for this
Some buttons are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way the site makes money. It doesn't change the stamp. When the reviews say "skip it", the page says skip it, and links to the cheaper option instead. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
